So. I’m sure a lot of you know by now that I like ritual games, urban legends and creepypastas with delicious sauce. I also like writing stories where someone plays the game and usually meets a horrible fate, because ritual games are the ultimate way to play stupid games and win stupid prizes.
Or, you know, occasionally as the entity called upon because that’s always fun.
I’m currently working on a story revolving around the Hooded Man ritual, but there’s still more I’d like to work around. I’ll link up the ones I’m looking at right now for you guys:
The Midnight Game - Hide and seek with an otherworldly monster in the vein of games like One Man Hide-and-Seek. Don’t get caught.
Lightless City - When you hate someone enough to travel to a strange, extradimensional city just to strike them dead.
Welcome Home - Summoning a ghost just for the purpose of having a supernatural encounter. Just don’t look behind you.
11 Miles - An 11-mile drive through a parallel world with the end goal of having a wish granted if you survive.
Nine Times Veronica - Bloody Mary-like ritual inviting a supernatural entity into your home…permanently.
So what I’m asking is, after I’ve finished the Hooded Man story, which one of these would you like to see me try writing about? I’ll probably do all of them eventually, but which would you like first? What seems the most interesting?
I’ve given a brief summary of what they’re about, but if you want to read more about what goes into the ritual, the links are all there. They all go to The Ghost In My Machine, which is my go-to site for urban legends, ritual games and creepy stuff, check it out if you have the time.
So yeah, that’s it for now. Looking forward to knowing what you guys think!
Also, by "amazing" I mean "horrifying" and I'd never want any of these to actually happen outside the safety of your wonderful writing. But they'd make very intriguing stories!
All of these sound amazing but I'm extra intrigued by Lightless City and want to read that story after you write it!
